Be a Cooked Spaghetti Noodle
When I think of spaghetti, there are two types:
Type 1: Uncooked
Type 2: Cooked
This all sounds a little silly and obvious, so let me explain.
Lol this blog post was inspired by the pot of adobo spaghetti that my mom made. You can combine spaghetti with so many different things, so I just started to think more deeply about spaghetti because I’m weird as fuck and thus this blog post was born. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
(random iPhone photo of spaghetti in the kitchen. It’s not that deep. Kinda looks like worms and the ultra wide camera on the iPhone 11 Pro is so fun.)
Imagine that you have a box of spaghetti. Now, pull one of the noodles out of the box. What you do next with the uncooked spaghetti noodle is entirely up to you. Try to imagine how you can make this noodle entertaining in any way. Go ahead, I’ll wait. The more you try to think about it, it seems like there is only one thing that yay can do with it and that is to continuously break it.
Now, imagine that you have a pot of cooked spaghetti noodles. You take one out of the pot and try to do the same thing as before: find a way to make it entertaining. It turns out, the cooked spaghetti noodle has way more possibilities than the uncooked spaghetti noodle. You can make so many different shapes and use your imagination even more. Need some new glasses? Bet. How about some new ice on your wrist? That aint no problem (Shannon Sharpe voice). Hungry? Well, it’ll definitely taste way better than the uncooked spaghetti noodle.
Where does this all lead? All I really want to tell you guys is to stop being uncooked spaghetti. Uncooked spaghetti is boring, stiff, and easily broken. Cooked spaghetti, on the other hand, now that’s the wave. Cooked Spaghetti is fun, flexible, and leaves so much room open for the imagination.
Lessons of the Cooked Spaghetti Noodle:
Lesson 1: Be a Kid
As we’re all getting older, one of the things that a lot of us tend to forget is to have fun and be a kid. Just because we’re getting older doesn’t necessarily mean that we have to grow old. Yes, we can be mature and learn all of the lessons that life has to teach us, but that doesn’t mean that we have to be so serious. After all, we (from what we know) only live one life. Be a kid. Little kids love spaghetti and playing with spaghetti. It’s okay to be that kid.
Lesson 2: Be Flexible
Like I said earlier, uncooked spaghetti is easily broken and just straight up boring. If you go through life being a rigid and uncooked spaghetti noodle, chances are your life will be pretty boring and you’ll break down easily due to lack of excitement and joy. Being flexible, on the other hand, allows us to readjust and adapt to anything that life throws at us. If life throws sauce at us, we embrace it and continue to have fun. Being a cooked spaghetti noodle means not being easily broken and being willing to take on anything that comes our way while also using our own imagination to shape the way we want to live our lives.
That’s really it. This isn’t too serious of a blog post. I’m just trying to have fun and be a cooked spaghetti after all lol. I’m really just using this to practice writing in different ways while also pushing something positive to whoever reads this. Nothing polished, just pure fun for me. So if you made it to this sentence, BE A COOKED SPAGHETTI NOODLE.
To Live and Prosper,
